A man from Lawrence, Massachusetts has been arrested on suspicion of distributing counterfeit medicines laced with fentanyl, after 100,000 pills were discovered at his apartment.
Miguel Angel Fajardo (32) was discovered in possession of multiple industrial pill presses, stamps with 'M' and '30' that could be used to make tablet that mimic oxycodone, and approximately 1.5kg of suspected fentanyl powder. Also found were ammunition, two individual finger presses, 4kg of cutting agent and two air purifying respirators, which are commonly used when working with fentanyl powder.
He has been charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing fentanyl, which provides for a sentence of at least 10 years and up to life in prison, at least five years of supervised release and a fine of $10m.
