Coffee lovers are in for a treat after the supermarket giant revealed the popular item it will give away for free. Here’s what you need to know.

Coffee lovers, this one is for you.

Coles is giving its customers a free coffee pod machine valued at $99 as part of an epic Mother’s Day promotion in collaboration with Vittoria Coffee.

Basically, all customers need to do is buy six Vittoria Coffee Espressotoria capsules to nab the special offer.

The capsules cost $7.50 for an Italian blend and $9 for its espresso and mountain grown coffee capsules and can then be used in the machine you will receive.

Rolando Schirato, managing director for Vittoria Food & Beverage, told news.com.au it’s the best offer they’ve ever made for Coles customers.

“The last time we ran this type of promotion, stock of machines ran out very quickly, long before the promotion ended,” Mr Schirato said.

“We even heard stories of people shopping around in different stores to find machines.”

The promotion will run from April 20 to May 24 while stocks last, so you’d better get in quick.

The Piccolo pod machine is compact and features a programmable pour function, heats up from standby in just 30 seconds and has a removable water tank.

It comes in a matt black finish and also has a removable drip tray to accommodate small and large cups.

It is compatible with Espressotoria Coffee Capsules and also has a one-year warranty on the system.

Coffee lovers who already own the machine have boasted online about how good it is.

“It’s super easy to use, just as easy to clean and it makes perfect coffee each and every time – definitely value for money,” one fan wrote.

“This is a great little pod unit. Fits on the bedside table so no more freezing trips to the kitchen for our morning coffee,” added another.

It comes as Coles recently released its own-brand compostable coffee pod after it saw a 30 per cent spike in coffee pod sales and a 20 per cent rise in sachet coffee as the nation battled Covid-19.

“More people are reaching for convenient, cafe-style coffee at home as flexible working becomes the norm. With coffee pods becoming so much more popular, we wanted to develop an option for eco-conscious customers to dispose of their pods at home, instead of in their landfill bin,” Coles general manager of grocery Leanne White told news.com.au.

Meanwhile, Melbourne-based coffee company Grinders also introduced compostable coffee capsules to its popular range. Each of the coffee capsules is made from bio-based, compostable resin and is compatible with all ‘original’ Nespresso coffee capsule machines.

An online retailer has copped a whopping fine for spamming customers, some of whom suffered “significant stress” as a result.

Aussies have largely been kept in the dark about key ingredients in their beer and wine, but that could be about to change.

Two new OAK milk flavours have officially hit supermarket shelves – and it’s up to Aussies to cast their vote to crown one winner.
